Apple iPhone 2018 may get new colours, bigger displays but same iPhone X design

The recent leaks and rumours regarding the Apple iPhone 2018 models have barely left us with any imagination. They have showed up in leaked images and the rumours have nearly revealed all the specifications that they may come with. Now, a new report from Bloomberg seems to cement some of the claims while adding some minor details about them. The report talks about the number of iPhones that will see the light of the day this year and the new colours they may sport.

The report re-confirms the previous rumours of Apple planning to launch three new iPhones later this year. All three will retain iPhone X’s edge-to-edge displays. It has also been mentioned that they will sport wider range of prices, features and sizes. These will have more new features on the inside than on the design and build side.
The biggest change could be the arrival of dual SIM card support. The report says that Apple is planning to bring two SIM card support in new iPhones for some regions.

Apple’s high-end iPhone is said to sport a 6.5-inch display, which would also make it the largest iPhone in the market when launched. The smartphone is supposed to have a glass back and stainless steel sides with dual cameras at the back. A major change will be that it would show content side-by-side in apps such as Calendar and Mail. The 6.5-inch model will also have an OLED screen.

The updated version of the current 5.8-inch iPhone X model will also launch by September. The major changes in this one could be on the processing speed and camera fronts. This means a new processor and improved camera performance will be there.

The new, cheaper iPhone is being said to be the most important one. Codenamed N84, the handset will retain the iPhone X-like design and will feature a 6.1–inch screen and will come in multiple colours. The handset is said to feature aluminium edges instead of stainless steel. It will sport LCD display.

The OLED iPhone models will be assembled by Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. according to the report, while the LCD iPhone assembly will be split between Hon Hai and Pegatron Corp.
